Applications for the 2025/26 Development Awards open October 8, 2025.
Supporting Co-Curricular Innovation on Your Campus
The e-Fest Development Awards provide $2,500 to support faculty-led co-curricular initiatives, giving students the experiences and opportunities they need to thrive at e-Fest 2026 and beyond.
Development Awards Update for 2025/26
EIX and the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation will award up to $140,000 in Development Awards to support faculty-led co-curricular programming that engages students in entrepreneurship and prepares strong teams for e-Fest 2026.
For 2025/26, we’ve made important updates to better serve faculty advisors:
-
New name: Development Awards (no longer grants)
-
Streamlined process: a new, improved online application makes it simpler and faster to apply
-
Consistent funding: all eligible schools receive a $2,500 award
-
Earlier timeline: applications open sooner, so funds reach faculty earlier in the year
-
Advisor focus: designed to empower faculty and staff advisors, who know best how to create meaningful co-curricular opportunities for their students
Eligibility
To be considered for a Development Award, schools must:
-
Be a four-year college or university in North America
-
Offer at least one entrepreneurship course
-
Commit to encouraging and supporting at least one undergraduate e-Fest team in 2026
Development Award Guidelines
Funds are intended to strengthen co-curricular entrepreneurship programming and to support the preparation of undergraduate student teams for e-Fest 2026. Awards can be used for activities such as student business concept competitions, workshops, events, or other faculty-led initiatives that inspire and engage students outside the classroom.
Recipients are expected to:
- Promote e-Fest on campus and encourage students to participate
- Ensure at least one undergraduate team from their institution submits to the online round of e-Fest 2026 (January 7 – March 1, 2026)
- Engage with EIX.org by exploring free teaching resources and providing feedback on how they are used in classes or student activities
- Awards are limited and applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to eligibility and alignment with e-Fest goals.
